Encounters in Music City - November
The velvety voice of Rozina Pátkay coupled with the skilled musicians of her quartet find their match in Brazilian duo Couple Coffee. The November edition of ‘Encounters’ revolves around the irresistible charm of bossa nova. Veszprém’s brand new venue Foton hosts yet another musical encounter on 09.11.
Few genres enjoy global acclaim like the relentlessly smooth pulse of bossa nova. Rozina Pátkay’s inspired, jazzy takes along her skilled set of musicians are a case in point, adding a local flavour to a global style. Couple Coffee hail from the mother country and stay true to their heritage, following in the footsteps of José Alfonso and his comrades, while adding a personal touch to their authentic sound. The concert offers musical explorations into jazz and Afro-latin sound melting the boundaries of lyrics and tunes, countries and continents.
The ‘Encounters in Music City’ concert series was launched in 2022, following Veszprém’s admission to the Creative Cities network. As the first Hungarian city to win the ‘City of Music’ title by UNESCO, Veszprém started the series to celebrate the universal language of music.
